MEET OUR HOUSE RABBITS!
CONTACT US
Meet our current bunnies!
WMRR only adopts out rabbits that have been spayed or neutered. We routinely vaccinate our rabbits for RHDV2; if you decide to adopt a rabbit who is between their initial and booster, we will ask that you bring the bunny back for their booster day.

Sometimes, foster bunnies might not yet be fixed, but we would work with the foster families to have that done while in their care, along with having them vaccinated for RHDV2.

Bunnies may be housed indoors only.

We do not adopt out to schools, 4H, or breeders.
However, we do have an awesome educational program we can bring to your classroom, scout meeting, birthday party, etc. to teach kids about bunny care and offer the opportunity to pet and interact with a friendly bunny!

Bunnies must be vaccinated for RHDV2 before they may be brought to the shelter for bonding dates. The vaccine has recently been approved in Massachusetts, so check with your veterinarian about getting your bunny up to date.

Some of our rabbits are in the process of bonding with rabbits outside our rescue. Bonding can take time, and since not all bonding works, we keep rabbits listed up here until they have been adopted.
Bunnies Available for Adoption
The rabbits below are all eagerly looking for their forever homes!
Any rabbits living in the shelter may also be fostered; rabbits are happiest in homes, even when waiting for their forever families.

Sarah

Female, Adult
*AVAILABLE FOR SANCTUARY FOSTER*
foster bunny
Sarah was brought to WMRR by her tearful owner who was no longer able to provide for her. It broke our hearts as this owner clearly loved her pet, but she was making the right decision by surrendering her. Sarah has arthritis, sore hocks, and a possible subluxation, requiring daily pain management. Her future family will need to monitor her pain and have the abililty to bring her for regular checkups. Despite this, she is super friendly and happy and loves attention and snuggles.

Sarah is fully vaccinated for RHDV2.

Smudge

Female, Adult
*ADOPTION ON HOLD*
foster bunny
Smudge is a sweet little lady who is shy at first, but once she settles in, becomes curious and quite receptive to pets. She is a gentle but curious girl who enjoys running, playing, and exploring her environs.

Smudge is fully vaccinated for RHDV2.

Munchkin

Male, Adult
*AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION*
foster bunny
Munchkin is a little, curious, and playful bunny. He is deaf, so can be easily startled, but he responds well to slow, intentional movement and an outstretched finger wiggle will have him come over for a nose boop. He loves to play with his stacking cups, digging, playing behind the curtain in his room, and messing with his hay bag. He does the cutest zoomies and binkies and will explore around you if you spend time on the floor with him. He does not like to be picked up and is very hesitant about touch, but with patience he will warm up to you. He might do well with a bunny friend to help him navigate sounds and have companionship.

Munchkin is fully vaccinated for RHDV2.

Peggy & Angelica

Females, Adult
*ADOPTION PENDING*
foster bunnies
Peggy and Angelica were rescued in fall of 2021 from an abandoned backyard breeding operation. These two sweethearts love having lots of space to explore.

These sweetie pies have been adopted twice from wMRR but returned due to circumstances beyond the adopters' control. We are truly hoping to find their forever family soon!

Peggy and Angelica are fully vaccinated for RHDV2.

Muffin

Female, Adult
Muffin was abandoned with her five siblings in a crate on a farm. While her siblings all found homes, Muffin has a cranial deformity which causes her to appear to have head tilt. Her foster dad gives her daily massages and does exercises with her which have made a big difference! She even has a bondmate, Bips, a WMRR alumnus who adores his baby sister. She is a very happy gal and does zoomies around her pen when she sees her papa.

Punkin

Female, Adult
Punkin came to WMRR when her owner was no longer able to care for her. She is a spunky girl who enjoys a good head rub and snuggling with her loving humans. She is a tiny cutie pie but due to chronic eye and ear issues, she is a sanctuary bunny.

Poppy

Male, Adult
Poppy is a big, sweet fuzzy boy with beautiful blue eyes. Like many white animals with blue eyes, Poppy is deaf. Poppy is a very friendly gentle giant, and is very treat motivated. Poppy both plays hard and snoozes hard—if he’s not playing with his toys, he’s fast asleep in his bed. Though he's not a senior, Poppy has advanced severe arthritis in his back legs and remains in sanctuary so he can receive regular laser treatments.

Bee

Female, Adult
Bee came to WMRR via Animal Control. She is a senior gal who was unspayed, and when we had her spayed, the veterinarian found (and removed) a very large mass in her uterus. An x-ray revealed that her cancer did *not* spread, thank goodness! She does have arthritis and a cataract, but that doesn't slow her down! Bee is very playful despite her age, and she loves to dig and box at her toys. She enjoys snuggling and hanging out on the couch with her humans.
